Overview
Mushrooms are found sporadically generated throughout each world. As of November 2013, the different types of mushrooms are as follows:
- Mushroom: Pink in color, found commonly in normal worlds.
- Amanita Mushroom: Red in color, found commonly in normal worlds.
- Willow Mushroom: Brown in color, found commonly in normal worlds.
- Portabella Mushroom: Beige in color, found commonly in normal worlds.
- Oyster Mushroom: Beige in color, found commonly in normal worlds.
- Porcini Mushroom: Light brown in color, found commonly in normal worlds.
- Chanterelle Mushroom: Light brown in color, found uncommonly in normal worlds.
- Morel Mushroom: Brown in color, with black spots, found uncommonly in normal worlds.
- Anbaric Mushroom: Glows yellow in color, found (very rare) in normal worlds.
- Acid Mushroom: Glows green in color, found commonly in acid pools. (Normal worlds)
- Elder Acid Mushroom: Glows Green in color, found (rare) in acid pools. (Normal world)
- Lava Mushroom: Glows red-orange in color, found (rare) in lava pools in normal worlds. Found commonly in lava pools in hell worlds.
- Infernal Mushroom: Dark red with a blue outline in color, found (rare) in hell worlds.
- Arctic Mushroom: Blue in color, found (very rare) in arctic world.

How to Obtain
You can mine any mushroom with any type of pickaxe, shovel, or spade. As with any item that can be mined, you can also use a butler bot's "mine" command. This is especially helpful when dealing with poisonous mushrooms in deep biomes.
Uses
Mushrooms will someday be used for highly anticipated mushroom wine. In the meantime, there are several glowing mushrooms that can be used as light sources.
